PlayStation Store now offers returns on Pre-Orders and ‘Faulty’ Content

Even though it is April Fools Day this isn’t a prank, Sony Interactive Entertainment updated the PlayStation Store’s Cancellation and Refund Policy this week, Now Players can have the option of receiving refunds on Pre-Orders and content that is deemed ‘Faulty’.

Outlined in the updated PlayStation Cancellation Policy Customers can request a refund on any Pre-Ordered purchases up until release day “Provided that you have not Streamed or Downloaded” after the release date, however, Customers can request a refund up to 14 days after the payment was taken for the pre-order, provided that you have not downloaded or streamed the content to your device; Sony stated.

Furthermore, what else is covered in the policy is that you can receive a refund on other purchases such as, full games, themes, downloadable content, avatars, and Season Passes within 14 days, and again “If you started to download or stream the purchased content you are not eligible for a refund unless the content is faulty,” Sony says. The support website does not specify what constitutes “faulty” content.

In most cases, it will go in the Customer’s PlayStation Wallet. For more on the recent changes, head over to Polygon.
