Desert Bus for Hope 2026: Having Fun for a Good Cause!
What is Desert Bus for Hope?
Founded in 2007 by the internet sketch comedy group LoadingReadyRun, Desert Bus for Hope combines video games, comedy, and sheer tedium to support charity. As the world’s longest-running internet-based fundraiser, it has raised over $10 million for Child’s Play across its 18-year history.
Viewers actively shape the event via live chat—challenging players to sing, dance, and embarrass themselves on stream, or participating in Silent Auctions, Live Auctions, and the annual Craft-A-Long.
What is Desert Bus? Desert Bus is a mini-game from the never-released Sega CD game Penn & Teller’s Smoke and Mirrors. Challenging the player to drive a listing, unreliable, virtual bus on an endless, eight-hour-long strip of highway between Tucson, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, it is widely regarded to be the worst video game ever made. With the game being about endurance, volunteers keep the audience entertained.
