Rafał Jaki, executive producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and MACHINE GAMU have officially launched the new dark fantasy manga, Brain Alive (ブレインアライブ) on Kadokawa’s KadoComi.
The manga’s digital English Serialization will begin in the fall, but Jaki stated “we got permission to publish the English pilot now with the Japanese serialization starting today.” He posted a Google Drive link where the pilot chapter is available to read for free in English.

“Brain Alive” tells a story about a father trying to save his comatose son after an accident. Daniel magically enters his son’s dreams and has to fight Slavic beasts and Japanese yokai to wake him up before it’s too late.

Before Brain Alive, Jaki and MACHINE GAMU worked together on No\Name (NO＼NAME). After debuting as a one-shot on Shonen Jump+ and MANGA Plus in January 2024, the series began regular serialization on July 31, 2024. It ended in February 2025, with Shueisha publishing the second and final volume in Japan on April 4, 2025. English readers could follow the series on MANGA Plus throughout its run.
