Dragon Ball fans went wild this weekend in Los Angeles! At Games Battle Hour 2026, the Dragon Ball Super Special Panel unleashed the SUPER GEKITOU Trailer for the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Beerus — an enhanced remaster packed with sharper visuals, explosive new fight scenes, and Goku’s ultimate showdown against Beerus. The trailer closes with a major hint at Frieza’s return, kicking off what promises to be a fresh take on the saga when it premieres in Fall 2026!
The event also featured comments from stars of the upcoming remaster that included legendary voice actor Ms. Masako Nozawa (Son Goku), God of Destruction Beerus (Mr. Koichi Yamadera), the English dub voice of God of Destruction Beerus (Mr. Jason Douglas), and Mr. Akio Iyoku, Executive Producer of the DRAGON BALL Franchise, building anticipation for the series’ debut later this year. Each expressed excitement for the upcoming enhanced edition, you can read their comments at the Official Dragon Ball website. It has also been confirmed that the Enhanced Edition will air on Fuji TV this fall.
The staff for the Enhanced Edition described this project as “Dragon Ball Super Begins Anew!” Featuring extensive new cuts, revisions to existing scenes, a complete re-rendering of all footage, newly recorded dubbing with added score and sound effects, and a full reconstruction of the story from the original TV Anime. The Enhanced Edition properly expresses Akira Toriyama’s original idea and worldbuilding more accurately. Earlier this year, they provided new information on the new series, Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol, which will be taking place after the Universal Survival Arc, which aired between 2015 and 2018. It also appears in the manga as the “Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc.” the new series is currently in production.

Dragon Ball Super (ドラゴンボール超スーパー) was written by Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotarou. The story was set up during the time frame of Toriyama’s original Dragon Ball manga, where ten years have passed since Goku defeated Majin Buu. The manga was first serialized in Shueisha’s monthly Shonen Magazine, V-JUMP in June 2015, and is currently on hiatus following Toriyama’s death in March 2024. A one-shot chapter, which had been written by Toriyama and serves as a prequel to the Super Hero arc, was published in February 2025. Viz Media licensed the series for release in North America. To this day, the manga consists of 24 tankōbon volumes. It would inspire a TV Anime adaptation which premiered in July 2015 and aired for 131 episodes until March 2018. Before Funimation merged with Crunchyroll, Dragon Ball Super aired on both streaming platforms, Funimation would later release the series on home video. Funimation debuted the English dub to its streaming service in December 2016. The English dub premiered on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in January 2017. It also inspired two original anime films, Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018), and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022).
