The Kamen Rider Premium and The Kamen Rider Chronicle Labels Announced
During yesterday’s Anniversary event, three new labels for the franchise were revealed. The first label, The Kamen Rider Chronicle, will focus on stories featuring past Kamen Riders. Keep in mind, this isn’t just for longtime fans of the franchise, rather the concept allows viewers to enjoy each work independently without prior knowledge of the TV series, while encouraging interest in the broader franchise. Next, The Kamen Rider Premium aims to produce special, high-quality Kamen Rider films. A theatrical project is currently in development, with a planned release within fiscal year 2028.
Kamen Rider Launches New Anime Project for its 55th Anniversary, with the first original anime project
One of the biggest highlights from the 55th Anniversary event was the unveiling of THE KAMEN RIDER ANIMATED — a brand-new label dedicated to anime and animated productions within the Kamen Rider franchise.Shinichiro Shirakura had teased the three new labels earlier, and this animated label forms a major part of Toei’s strategy to expand the series globally. The goal is to create works that fully utilize animation’s unique expressive techniques, helping bring Kamen Rider to even more fans around the world. Both original stories and legacy Riders will appear in future productions. The very first project is an all-new original anime produced in collaboration with Aniplex and SHIROGUMI (the studio behind the VFX for Godzilla Minus One). While only the storyboard was shown during the presentation, it already hints at a striking visual style inspired by classic Japanese manga aesthetics.
