It was a big night at last night’s Game Awards, but one of the biggest moments of the night was the surprise teaser trailer reveal of the newest live-action adaptation of one of the biggest fighting game franchises, Street Fighter!
The new teaser was a brief 46-second trailer, but it was enough to generate buzz across the internet and social media. After the trailer premiered, the actors from the new film took to the stage, hyping the audience up, and Comedian Andrew Schulz, who plays Dan Hibiki even made a joke about a rival fighting game franchise‘s upcoming movie sequel, Mortal Kombat II (Releasing May 8, 2026.) Which triggered a fast response from the film’s producer, Todd Garner over on Twitter. Garner offered a more diplomatic response, while keeping the prior tweet live: “I hope they both are huge.”
