DanDaDan Season One Comes to Blu-ray in June, Ahead of Season Two Premiere

As we head into the summer anime scene, it’s about to become even more Paranormal with DanDaDan Season One finally making its way to Blu-ray this June.

It’s the perfect time to be a fan of Yukinobu Tatsu’s DaDaDan, the TV Anime’s second season making its debut in July, and its first season making its way onto Blu-ray on June 10. There will be two variations of the Blu-ray for fans to buy, one will include a standard edition and the other will include a Collector’s Edition.

Yukinobu Tatsu’s DanDaDan made its debut in Shueisha’s digital manga magazine, Shonen Jump Plus in April 2021 and is currently ongoing. As of January 2025, each chapter has been collected into 18 tankobon volumes, with the 19th volume preparing to go on sale on April 4th. Viz Media publishes the manga and its chapters for English audiences, and Manga Plus also publishes the chapters for English audiences. Animation for both seasons was handled by Science Saru (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken, Devilman Crybaby, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off). The TV Anime’s first season premiered in Japan on October 3 on TBS and MBS’s Super Animeism TURBO programming block. Netflix began streaming the anime worldwide on October 3 at 25:00 JST (effectively, October 4 at 1:00 a.m. JST). The series had 12 episodes. You can stream season one on Crunchyroll and Netflix.

This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.

To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?
