It was the news that we have been waiting for ever since its first announcement, Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions took the stage at this year’s SXSW and discussed the upcoming sequel to Death Stranding titled Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Kojima Productions also revealed the pre-order start date, release date, and different Collector’s Editions.
Kojima Productions unveiled a special 10-minute trailer to highlight the pre-order date for the upcoming sequel, which begins on March 17. In the new trailer, we got a look at new gameplay that was introduced along with a brand-new character named Neil, who has gotten praise from many who believe they can see the actor portraying Snake from the Metal Gear Solid franchise and that was an Italian actor named Luca Marinelli (The Old Guard, Trust, Mary of Nazareth). The release date has been confirmed for June 26, 2025, however, those who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector’s Edition get two days of early access from June 24.
The trailer also revealed a rather Metal Gear-looking creature (Metal Gear Rex) called the Magellan Man, a huge tar-like creature fused with the DHV Magellan that is facing off against enormous TAR-Like Monsters. Listed below are three different versions, including a Collector’s Edition that gamers can purchase at the PlayStation Store or various retailers, each tier offers various things and different items:

Also announced was the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach “Stranding Harmony” Concert Series, which will begin on November 8, 2025, beginning with a performance at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. It will be a special concert tour to celebrate the music of Death Stranding, which will feature a full orchestra performing music from the series. Death Stranding is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBox Series X|S, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Amazon Luna, and Steam.
