The official website and social media accounts for The Rising of the Shield Hero revealed a new visual and a brief promotional video to highlight the new visual to celebrate the upcoming fourth season.
“The Return of the Exiled” as the tagline reads in the new visual, accompanied by our heroes Naofumi, Raphtalia, Filo, Atla, and Fohl staring off into the distance. It’s already confirmed that Crunchyroll will be streaming the new season.
The Rising of the Shield Hero TV Anime is based on the light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Seira Minami, The light novel series made its debut as a web novel on the user-generated novel website Shōsetsuka ni Narō and was later published by Media Factory. The Light Novel series consists of 27 volumes, One Peace Books licensed the book series for English audiences in September 2015. The Rising of the Shield Hero would also inspire a spin-off series (The Reprise of the Spear Hero) available as a light novel and manga, a manga adaptation, a video game, and a stage play. You can catch The Rising of the Shield Hero on Crunchyroll and the first season on Netflix, and Blu-ray.

Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
