A week ago, we got new information on the latest chapter in the Ultraman Franchise, Ultraman Arc. Seven days later, Tsuburaya Productions unveiled another look at our new hero and the armor and weapons he’ll be using in battle!
The armor is reminiscent of another New Generation Ultraman, Ultraman X! Arc will have two new sets of armor, Sollis Armor (The Armor of The Sun) and Luna Armor (The Armor of The Moon), and a brand-new weapon, Arc Eye Sword (The Invincible Sword). Sollis Armor (The Armor of The Sun)
The armor of the flaming sun that covers our hero uses the Arc Ariser to unleash the power of the Sollis Armor cube, which was engraved with the form that resembles Yuma’s childhood drawing of the “Power of the Sun.” When the Solis Core on his chest shines, the powerful armor gives Arc the power and defensive ability way beyond normal, making him excel at close-ranged combats.
It can also use supernatural moves by unleashing the power of the Solis Armor Cube with the Arc Eye Sword.
Luna Armor (The Armor of The Moon)
The armor of the blue moonlight that covers our hero uses the Arc Ariser to unleash the power of the Luna Armor cube, which was engraved with the form that resembles Yuma’s childhood drawing of the “Power of the Moon.” This speedy armor increases Arc’s speed, giving him an advantage, especially in aerial battles. On his left arm is the Luna Saucer, a round weapon that shoots long-range attacks like a frisbee.
It can also use supernatural moves by unleashing the power of the Luna Armor Cube with the Arc Eye Sword.
Arc Eye Sword, the Invincible Sword
Finally, Arc’s beloved weapon is the Arc Eye Sword. The center of the sword resembled the shape of his eyes. When Arc holds his hands in front of his face the sword appears glowing in the rainbow-colored light above his eyes and the Arc Stone on his forehead. He then uses this sword to slice his enemies.
It can unleash various supernatural moves, including the Arc Sword Finish, where Arc spins and slashes the opponent as the blade shines in the rainbow color. He can also use the Arc Sword Beam by inserting the Arc Cube unleashed by Yuma’s imagination into the slot resembling the shape of the Arc Stone and laying the sword over his eyes.
Bandai revealed the Ultraman Arc toy line, which included the Arc Eye Sword DX, which was priced at 6,160 yen (USD 40.19). The Arc Eye Sword DX will be available to purchase on July 20. Please Note: DX Arc Cubes are sold separately. Speaking of Arc Cubes, Special DX-themed Arc Cubes (Sollis Armor and Luna Armor) were also unveiled and both were priced at 1,650 yen (USD 10.76).
Ultraman Arc begins on July 6, 2024, at 9 am JST and will be broadcast on TV TOKYO. It will be simultaneously broadcast and distributed in six countries and regions overseas, but it will also be available in 11 different languages. Finally, Ultraman Arc will also be streamed simultaneously with an English Dub, continuing the new tradition carried over from Ultraman Blazar. Here are the other language subtitles will be available in English, Korean, Indonesian, Malay, Vietnamese, Filipino, Latin, Portuguese, Hindi, Chinese, and Thai.
In a town called Hoshimoto City…
A giant object towers in Mt. Shishio. Named “Monohorn”, it is actually a kaiju’s horn stuck in the ground since an incident 16 years ago.
The incident when kaiju appeared simultaneously around the world was later named “K-Day.” Since then, the Global Defense Force (GDF) has been dealing with kaiju with force, while SKIP (Scientific Kaiju Investigation and Prevention center) works closely with the community in scientific investigations and evacuation guidance to prevent the occurrence and aggravation of kaiju disasters. SKIP has also been investigating the Monohorn, the horn of the galactic beast Monogelos, which appeared on K-Day.
Yuma, then only 7 years old, was camping with his parents in Mt. Shishio when Monogelos attacked, but somehow miraculously survived unhurt. This experience led him to pursue the path of kaiju biology research, and despite his traumatic past, he has not lost his “imagination” to dream. As a rookie investigator, Yuma joined SKIP and was assigned to the Hoshimoto City Branch.
Not long after, another large-scale kaiju disaster occurs. As Yuma sees the desperate people in front of him, a strong will springs into his mind — “I want to protect them!” It was at that moment when Yuma hears the voice of Rution, the being of light that he once saw as a child:
“You and I are one and the same… Unleash your imagination!”
When the mystic light emerging from Yuma’s hand embodies his entire body, his power of imagination fuses him with the light and he transforms into Ultraman Arc, the Giant of Light who protects the future! Alongside his precious friends, Yuma, as well as Ultraman Arc, gallops towards his everlasting dream!
