According to a new announcement from the Official One Piece Staff, a special promotional video will be featured at Shinjuku Station for the first appearance of Luffy’s newest transformation into Gear Five in the animated series, taking place on August 6th.
The new promotional video will be available to view at the east-west free passage of JR East Shinjuku Station, located at the Shinjuku Wall 456. This is a limited promotion, taking place from July 31st to August 6th. The new episode will feature an all-star animation team is on the episode, with Tatsuya Nagamine (Dragon Ball Super: Broly) directing the episode itself with Midori Matsuda (One Piece Film Gold, 1,000th episode opening animation) and Keita Saito (One Piece episode 1,062 and more) as animation directors.
One Piece, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine in July 1997, and still an ongoing title. The manga series was licensed for an English language release in North America and the United Kingdom by Viz Media and in Australia by Madman Entertainment. The manga chapters are simultaneously published the same day as in Japan on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump app and Shueisha’s Manga Plus. Since its serialization, the manga has inspired various types of merchandising and media, such as a trading card game and video games. A Television Anime (which is available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, Pluto TV, and Hulu), numerous animated films, and a live-action TV series adaptation on Netflix in 2023
