It’s finally here. Anime Expo has arrived and we’re dedicating a special edition of This Week In The Nerd Fandom to the coverage. The biggest licensors and studios made their presence known at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the Anime Community has shown up in full force! Let’s take a look at the biggest announcements so far!

TRIGGER unveils a Brand-New Panty & Stocking Teaser, along with Gurren Lagann Anniversary News

After their success with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Studio TRIGGER was on a roll at this year’s Anime Expo. The studio announced new information on several of its upcoming projects, including Ryōko Kui’s Delicious In Dungeon Anime Adaptation, which will be coming to Netflix in January 2024. TRIGGER also revealed a brand-new short teaser for the new Panty and Stocking series, and announced that the studio acquired the rights for Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.

Next up, TRIGGER also celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann movie with a special revival screening of the film. The theatrical screenings will arrive in Japan this fall, North America this winter, and Taiwan in October, in both 2D and 4D formats. You can watch Gurren Lagann on Crunchyroll!

ZOM 100: The Bucket List of the Dead is coming to Crunchyroll!

Viz Media treated fans to a special sneak peek of the new anime series based on the manga series created by Haro Aso and Kotaro Takata. Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead has been confirmed that it will be premiering on Crunchyroll on July 9th. The Live-Action film will be released on August 3rd on Netflix.

Manga Planet adds Loveless and Seven Other Boys Love Titles

Manga Planet announced several acquisitions of several Boys Love manga titles from Ichijinsha and WWWave Corporation. Titles such as Loveless, Hitorijime Boyfriend, Hitorijime My Hero, and The Titan’s Bride. Kodansha USA Announces 21 New Print Licenses And More!

Kodansha USA Publishing announced during its panel their slate of print licenses for spring 2024, and their digital exclusives for July 2023. Several notable titles such as Turns Out My Online Friend is My Real-Life Boss!, Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You, and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea. J-Novel Club Announces Fourteen New Titles In New Acqusition

J-Novel Club announced fourteen new licenses during their panel, one of them being a brand-new audiobook for Ascendance of A Bookworm, featuring narration by Reba Buhr, the English Voice Actress for Myne. Anime News Network has a complete list of titles that will be coming your way soon.

MAPPA Announces BUCCHIGIRI?! And Maboroshi

During the MAPPA panel, MAPPA CEO Manubu Ostuka and producer Makoto Kimura outlined their upcoming projects, which included Maboroshi, a new film by Mari Okuda, and a new delinquent anime series titled BUCCHIGIRI?! The anime series will be streaming on Crunchyroll in 2024.
