We’re certainly on a stroll down memory lane recently. Take, for example, American audiences got a Nostalgia-Filled Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Special, and Japan with Kamen Rider Faiz and Avataro Sentai Donbrothers VS Zenkaiger. Now, we’re about to jump back into the world of dinosaurs and heroes with Bakuryū Sentai Abaranger‘s 20th Anniversary Project.
It was announced yesterday that the Bakuryū Sentai Abaranger 20th anniversary film would have a limited-time viewing on September 1st. The title of the film Bakauryū Sentai Abaranger 20th: The Unforgivable Abare!
In the new film, it has been twenty years since the abarangers fought the Evolians, and suddenly, a new threat has appeared and threatens the peace that Ryouga and the other abarangers fought for, For the first time in years, they transform and prepare to fight! But they are in for a shock when the public seems to think their actions are barbaric and destructive. In the Reiwa Era, is the sense of justice that they fought for considered to be outdated?

Toei has confirmed that the original cast and main writer, Naruhisa Arakawa, will be joining the film but will be helmed by a new director. Taking on the role will be Hisashi Kimura (Masked Ward, Business Card Game, The Files of Young Kindaichi) in his first Tokusatsu Directorial Debut. The film will be part of Toei’s V-Cinext campaign which will have a limited screening set for September 1st and will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray on March 27th, 2024.

Bakauryū Sentai Abaranger is the twenty-seventh chapter in the Super Sentai Franchise, it aired from February 16th, 2003 to February 8th, 2004, replacing Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger (Which also is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a new film!) the premise and action sequences were also used for Power Rangers: Dino Thunder, which included an English Dubbed version used in an episode of Dino Thunder.
