Great news for fans of the Webcomic series Lackadaisy, a brand new trailer has been released for an upcoming animated short that will adapt the beloved webcomic by artist Tracy J. Butler. The Short will premiere in March 2023.

This new animated short will be a 27-minute film directed by Fable Siegel, an animator known for work in works such as The Midnight Gospel, Like, Share, and Die. They are also known for their work in writing and directing.

The animation in this trailer is a treat to watch, bringing together talented artists and animators for something fantastic. It makes me nostalgic for the works of Don Bluth and Ralph Bakshi. Iron Circus Comics, known by many as Chicago’s Largest Alternative Comics Publisher, is helping bring the Webcomic to life.

What is Lackadaisy?

It is set in the Prohibition Era of 1927 Chicago, in a world of anthropomorphic cats, and chronicles the fortunes of the Lackadaisy Speakeasy after its founder is murdered. This series mixes elements of crime, comedy, and mystery into a well-blended story.

The Webcomic series has won multiple Web Cartoonists’ Choice Awards, and in 2011, it was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Digital Comic. For more information on this series, including a way to support the Comic series, be sure to visit their official website.
