It’s the first This Week In The Nerd Fandom of the new year, and we have plenty of topics to look at this week! I’m playing catch-up after a nasty bout with Bronchitis. Let’s get to it!
Wakanda Forever Coming To Disney Plus on February 1st
It was one of the biggest films of 2022. Marvel Studios Wakanda Forever is coming to Disney Plus on February 1st. To celebrate the occasion, Marvel Studios and Proximity Media have teamed up for a special collaboration, Official Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Podcast. Fans will be able to listen and learn about the emotional journey to make the film in six episodes, the first episode is out now on the Podcast’s Feed, also available on all major podcast platforms such as Apple and Spotify and at ProximityMedia.com Five additional episodes will be available weekly beginning January 18th.

The Crisis may be over, but a new event is on the horizon at DC Comics. The Lazarus Planet, which has brought chaos in its wake. Ra’s Al Ghul’s Lazarus Pit has become a Lazarus Volcano, thanks to a villain named King Fire Bull. The Lazurus Pit is spewing mysterious liquid contents, and it is causing chaos and havoc among the Magic Users, and what’s worse is that it is also rewriting aspects of the DC Universe through its power.
According to Newsarama, in the newest preview for The Lazarus Pit: Alpha #1, Damien Wayne leads a team including Zatanna, Shazam, Power Girl, Black Alice, Monkey Prince, Cyborg, Blue Beetle, Supergirl, and more as they attempt to navigate the erupting Lazarus Volcano and figure out how to get their powers working as normal once more by attacking the Tower of Fate. The Lazarus Pit: Alpha goes on sale on January 10th and Newsarama has an exclusive first look.
Thames & Kosmos Reveal A New Narrative Board Game, LoTR: Adventure to Mount Doom
The Game Publishing Company, Thames & Kosmos, announced a brand new cooperative board game titled Lord of the Rings: Adventure to Mount Doom. In this new game, players will assume the roles of the fellowship and move each individual across the landscape of middle earth while carefully avoiding the Nazgul.
