It’s hard to believe this latest announcement, but Kodansha’s Evening Magazine will be ceasing publication with its last issue on February 28th, 2023.
Kodansha announced on its official website for its Evening Manga Magazine that the publication will end with its last issue on February 28th, 2023. There isn’t a reason for this sudden decision at this time but the circulation of the evening magazine dropped from 115,617 copies every two weeks in 2015 to around 42,000 copies in September 2020.
What is Evening Magazine?
Evening Magazine began in 2001 as a supplement to Kodansha’s Morning Magazine, originally titled Morning Shin Magnum Zōkan. eventually evolving to become Monthly Evening in 2001 and then moving to a bi-weekly publication in 2003 with an independent editorial department to Morning. Evening Magazine includes titles such as Seimaru Amagi and Fumiya Satō’s The Case Files of 37-year-old Kindaichi, Satoshi Miyakawa and Kai Kitagō’s Superman vs. Meshi: Superman no Hitori Meshi, and finally, Yudai Debata’s Futari Solo Camp.

The Editorial Department stated that some of the manga currently serializing in the magazine will migrate to the Comic Days app after the magazine suspends publication.
