It was certainly one of the biggest announcements in April. Criminals beware, Ryo Saeba makes his triumphant return in City Hunter: The Final Chapter Begins.

A brand new visual has been released for the new film, drawn by manga author Tsukasa Hojo, also featuring news of the following cast members reprising their roles, joining Akira Kamiya, who will be returning as Ryo Saeba:

  • Kazue IkuraKaori Makimura
  • Yōko Asagami– Saeko Nogami
  • Tesshô GendaUmibôzu
  • Mami KoyamaMiki

In addition to the new visual, fans that attend Jump Festa later this month (December 17th-18th) can purchase a movie ticket card featuring the artwork from the updated key visual. Which also includes an acrylic stand of Ryo Saeba to recreate the key visual.

Tsukasa Hojo’s City Hunter manga ran from 1985 to 1991 and has 35 volumes. The manga inspired four television anime series, one anime film, several videos, and television specials that include a 2015 Original Anime DVD. ADV Films released most of these anime projects in North America. The original anime premiered in April 1987. The City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes anime film opened in Japan in February 2019. The City Hunter anime series and films are currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
