Recently, the Walt Disney Company had an APC (Asia-Pacific Content)Showcase in Singapore, revealing not only a new slate of original anime content but a new partnership expansion with Kodansha.

The new collaboration will also include licensing exclusive anime titles based on the manga published by Kodansha. Starting it off will be Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Arc, adapting one of the biggest story arcs in the manga created by Ken Wakui. It will launch exclusively on Disney + and Disney + Hotstar in January 2023.

There has been some skepticism about this new announcement amongst anime fans on social media. There have been announcements in the past regarding anime titles premiering on the service but streaming in other regions only on Disney’s other services. The first season of Tokyo Revengers is available on Crunchyroll.
