The Final Fighter was revealed for Nintendo’s Smash Bros. Ultimate Video Game, were we going to see Goku? Master Chief? Kratos? Or maybe Shaggy joining the fight? No, sorry, because it’s Kingdom Hearts’ Sora that has joined the fight! Announced today during Smash. Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai’s presentation, Sakurai mentions that Sora was the most requested fighter to date.
You might recall that fan roster request survey Nintendo sent out in the 3DS and Wii U era, Sora was the most requested fighter that fans wanted the most. It took six years but look at him now, finally part of the game. Available to purchase on October 18th, which is also the same day as the game’s three new Mii Fighter costumes become available. Like the previously announced DLC Fighters, you can purchase him either separately for $5.99, or as part of the Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Fighter Pass Vol. 2 for $29.99.
Included with Sora are nine tracks: Night of Fate, Destiny’s Force, Shrouding Dark Cloud, Hand in Hand, Blast Away! – Gummi Ship II, Hollow Bastion, Scherzo Di Notte, Fragments of Sorrow, and Destati. And if you have the save data for Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, you’ll also receive the song “Dearly Beloved – Swing Version”. Also, for the stage, you’ll get to play in Hollow Bastion, the home of Maleficient, which will transform into the Dive To The Heart form, similar to the Dark, Brooding Stained Glass stages that fans are familiar with in the Kingdom Hearts Video Games.
