Great Scott! It’s a company, Marty! They turned our film into a Light Novel!” That’s right Doc, the 1985 Sci-Fi Comedy that was directed and co-written by Robert Zemeckis has been adapted into a Light Novel that will be aimed at children and published by Poplar Publishing Co., Ltd in Japan, under their Poplar Kiminovel Line.

Written by Ichirou Oumi and features illustrations by Zerogo Iwamoto. The books are aimed at children in elementary school and junior high, and the first volume will be published in Japan on August 18th, 2021 with a retail price of 748 yen (about $6.79 US) including tax.

A small-town California teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is thrown back into the ’50s when an experiment by his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) goes awry. Traveling through time in a modified DeLorean car, Marty encounters young versions of his parents (Crispin Glover, Lea Thompson), and must make sure that they fall in love or he’ll cease to exist. Even more dauntingly, Marty has to return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown.”
