The World’s Finest! Batman and Superman Return to Animation

Two Monumental Announcements were made this morning and they involved both The Caped Crusader and the Man of Tomorrow, the World’s Finest are set to make their return to the Animated Series Market! HBO Max and Cartoon Network announced a pair of new Animated Series that involved the Big Two Heroes, Batman, and Superman. Let’s take a look:

Batman: The Caped Crusader

Let’s begin with the first announcement, Batman: Caped Crusader, produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions, 6th & Idaho, and Executive produced by Bruce Timm, Abrams, and Reeves. This marks Timm’s return to Batman in an Animated Episodic Television Series since his work on the Emmy Nominated series, Batman the Animated Series, which ran from 1992 to 1995 and spawned an interconnected animated universe that’s still growing to this day. It is described to this day as the Gold Standard in animated Superhero Storytelling.

Three Decades Later, Timm makes his return to Batman’s World and he is bringing some company with him, filmmakers J.J. Abrams and The Batman director Matt Reeves. Utilizing state-of-the-art animation techniques and technology, Batman: Caped Crusader promises to once again reinvent Batman and his super-villains with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters, and intense action sequences all set in a visually striking world. This series has received the straight to series order by HBO Max and Cartoon Network, this announcement was made by Tom Ascheim, President, Warner Bros. Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics and Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios ahead of WarnerMedia’s 2021 upfronts presentation.

My Adventures with Superman

The next animated series is also produced by Warner Bros. Animation, My Adventures with Superman follows Clark Kent as he builds his Secret Superman Identity and embraces being the hero of Metropolis, perhaps even the World. Lois, now growing into a star investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love, sharing adventures, taking down bad guys, stumbling over secrets, and discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.

Actors Jack Quaid (The Boys) and Alice Lee (Zoe’s Extraordinary Playlist) will lead the My Adventures with Superman voice cast as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation with Register (Teen Titans Go!) serving as executive producer. Jake Wyatt (Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus) and Brendan Clogher (Voltron: Legendary Defender) are on board as co-executive producers and Josie Campbell (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) as co-producer.
