Thanks to Manga, Q1 Sales for Graphic Novels have grown, tripled in fact, according to ICv2 and NPD BookScan Group Data.
A new report from the NPD Bookscan Group and ICv2’s Milton Griepp has shown that the Q1 U.S. Book Channel’s Graphic Novels sales have gone up, growing to around 4 million units, and growing like a wildfire. U.S. print book sales were up 29% in Q1, the highest volume of Q1 print sales since NPD BookScan began tracking the sales in 2004. Non-fiction was the fastest-growing part of the adult market, although fiction, where graphic novels were the biggest growth contributor, also grew rapidly.
It was Manga that accounted for 80% of the Graphic Novels Sales Growth, in March 2021 sales had tripled in the March sales of manga in the Top 20 chart were triple the sales in March 2020, it is quite a tremendous feat!
