Ray Fisher speaks to THR in a new interview regarding Joss Whedon, Warner Bros.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Actor Ray Fisher has opened up about the work environment he had to endure while working with Warner Bros. and with Joss Whedon. In July 2020, he took to Twitter and tweeted that Joss Whedon’s conduct on the set of the 2017 film, Justice League, was “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.”

Ray played the role of Cyborg, what was set to be a role of a lifetime as DC’s first Black Superhero, a role considered to be a huge career break, but it also meant the role was a major responsibility which the actor understood, however, it quickly turned into a nightmare for the Actor. If you recall in 2017, Zack Snyder had to leave due to a Family Emergency, he was replaced by Joss Whedon who helmed Marvel’s The Avengers. Amongst the latest allegations were that Fisher had learned that former DC co-chairman and “Justice League” producer Geoff Johns, then-DC Films co-chairman Jon Berg, Warner Bros. studio chief Toby Emmerich and other top executives expressed concerns about having “an angry Black man” at the center of the movie.

Since then, the 33-year-old has used social media to voice his opinion in cryptic and harsh tweets against the Studio and the filmmaker in which he mentions that it was also racist and unprofessional conduct. Another person has spoken out against Whedon, actress Charisma Carpenter who said that Joss was abusive on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
