Last night was the PlayStation State of Play Event which provided glimpses of exciting new games coming to the PS4 and PS5. Speaking of the Playstation 5, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about time! Gets a taste of PlayStation 5, a glimpse into Returnal, the return of Oddworld, and finally, Final Fantasy VII: Intergrade makes the scene. Let’s check out what Sony has in store for the fans:
When you thought that things were about to get peaceful and buddy, that’s all about to change when Crash and the gang come to the PlayStation 5 on March 12th. Taking advantage of what the newest console has to offer, Crash Bandicoot 4 gets support with Native 4K targeting 60 FPS (Requiring a 4k device of course) and enhanced 3D audio.
Also getting other things such as Adaptive Triggers, Activity Cards, and the best part of it all, you can upgrade and crossover from the PS4. For more information on it, click here.
Next up is Housemarque’s Third Person Shooter, Returnal. A Psychological Horror game with Roguelike elements, this game is set up in a futuristic science fiction setting tells of a space pilot named Selene who is stranded on an Alien Planet, and to make matters worse, she is stuck in a time loop. In this state of play, we got a look at the gameplay and the team at Housemarque promise the players a real challenge. The game is set to debut on April 30th, 2021 on the PS5.
The team from SloClap is bringing a KungFu Adventure with their newest project, Sifu. Coming to Playstation 4 and 5, this 3rd person Action Game puts us in control of a young student who dedicated his soul to getting vengeance after his family was brutally murdered by a Squad of Mysterious Assassins. There is currently no release date yet, it will be released in 2021.
Next up, the Team-Based Action Game from Velan Studios, Knockout City.
In this game, you’ll have to team with your friends to take down rival crews in epic dodgeball battles. EA currently has a chance for Players to sign up for Beta Access, For more information on this game click here. Knockout City will be available on May 21st, 2021.
Heart Machine’s newest Video Game takes us into the Ultravoid in Solar Ash. Known for their other video game titled Hyper Light Drifter, Solar Ash tells of a girl named Rei who is a Voidrunner looking to save her homeworld from the Ultravoid, a massive Blackhole that swallows entire worlds. This game will be available for the PS4 and PS 5 later this year.
It has been Seven Years since the first Five Nights at Freddy’s has scared the living crap out of us, now Freddy Fazbear and his Pizzeria have become a Mega Pizza Plex in the newest game “Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach.”
The Mega Pizza Plex is enormous and with it are darkened hallways, arcades, and of course, Fazbear Attractions. In this new Oddworld game you take on the role of the hero, Abe the Mudokon. Abe is a floor-waxer at Mullock the Glukkon’s RuptureFarms meat packing plant. He accidentally learns about Molluck’s plan to turn Mudokons into tasty treats. He wants to save himself, but he’s compelled to try to save everyone. His selfless act is the spark that sets the revolution ablaze. Oddworld Soulstorm will be available on April 6th, 2021 for the PS4 and PS5. Playstation Plus members will be able to download the PS5 version at no extra cost on Launch Day.
We’re near the end of our recap, with two games to go it’s time to look at Ember Lab’s Kena Bridge of Spirits.
We follow a girl named Kena, who is a young spirit guide who uses her magical abilities to help deceased people move from the physical to the spirit world. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is played with a third-person perspective, also during the State of Play they debuted the Pre-Order Exclusives from Celebration Hats to Digital Deluxe Edition Items. The game is scheduled currently to be released on August 24th, 2021.
We’re almost near the end, well, except for this man named Colt, Trapped in a time loop, Colt has been experiencing déjà vu for as long as he can remember, which isn’t very long because he has amnesia and only really remembers his recent past. That might explain all the déjà vu, honestly. Every time the day loops it’s a struggle to remember everything so he can use the knowledge he has to push himself forward and, hopefully, off the island of Blackreef. Colt sets his sights on a new target – the Visionary, “Ramblin’” Frank Spicer.
Deathloop is a new game from Bethesda Softworks, it will be available on both the PS5 and Windows on May 21st, 2021, under a timed one-year console exclusivity deal.
Saving the best for last, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Picking up where the first left off, it is an enhanced and expanded version of the critically acclaimed adventure. The game’s lighting, texture, and environment have increased with the PS5 version of the game. New features have also been added, including the ability to switch between “Graphics Mode” that prioritizes high-quality 4K graphics (4K compatible display required) and “Performance Mode” that prioritizes smooth action at 60FPS.
