Capcom started the New Year with a brand new Game Showcase, and that was all about Resident Evil. Introducing a brand new Multiplayer Experience, a crossover with Division 2, a look into Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, and of course, Resident Evil Village. Before we begin the look into this Showcase, I would like to point out that IGN has an extensive breakdown of the Showcase, including Screenshots as well.
Resident Evil: Village is confirmed for a May 2021 Release with an exclusive Playstation 5 Exclusive Demo.
We not only got a new trailer for Resident Evil Village but also a confirmation for the release date on May 7th, 2021. We get to see one of the new Villains such as the tall woman known as Lady Dimitrescu, from what we’ve seen in the past it will be more of a Supernatural tale of horror, Ethan Winters once again steps up to the main character role and he’s searching for a loved one, again. But this time it’s not his wife, but rather his kidnapped daughter (Man, I feel like we’ve tapped into Liam Neeson’s Taken,) searching a mysterious village and. a mysterious castle. Taking some cues from past games also introduces new elements of combat, Resident Evil seems to balance between action-heavy games and survival-heavy games now; it always has been strategical survival but it has become more action-heavy with physical combat introduced in Resident Evil 4. Also, as mentioned above, there was an Exclusive Demo for Playstation 5 which will be released later this spring for all platforms, but PS5 owners can get exclusive access today to the new “Maiden” demo.
