Lemillion gave everything and then some as he jumped in front of the bullet meant for Eri, sacrificing his quirk to save the young girl from the Quirk Erasing Bullet. We know how much of a jerk that Overhaul is, taunting Mirio and calling him a “Diseased man with foolish dreams;” but it does a great job conveying how sinister one person can be when written right and Kohei Horikoshi did a wonderful job on it, this includes the team involved in animating and directing this episode. Deku’s explosive entrance was something his mentor would be proud of, the fierce determination on the young man’s face said it all, nothing was needed to make it a deeper moment than it already is.
After having Deku hanging back briefly this season, we’re finally getting a chance to see the young hero in action without being held back, but Overhaul becoming even more dangerous by the second and Aizawa taken out by Chrono, Deku and Nighteye are forced to take on the evil villain by themselves! As the wise hero allows the battered Mirio to escape with Eri, with Nighteye’s foresight he ended up skewered worse than his protege. The tension and animation begin to ramp up as Overhaul begins to transform, Deku realizes that he will have to go all out in this battle and give everything he has to stop Overhaul.
