MPC says “Bah Humbug!” To the Vancouver Studio, Shuts the Studio Down

Cartoon Brew recently reported that MPC, the Visual Effects Powerhouse has decided to be an Ebenezer Scrooge by shutting down its Studio in Vancouver, Canada, effective immediately. The Company has employed over 800 VFX workers at one point but the current staff count is smaller, but there isn’t a count on how many are affected by this recent shutdown.

The Employees for MPC’s Vancouver Division were alerted about the shutdown on the morning of December 11th, the letter cited the “increasing external market pressures in Vancouver and more attractive opportunities in other locations” the full letter of the text is listed in this link.
