No. This isn’t it sorry,) ten years later Sakura is brought back to the world of the living and she isn’t alone as she meets with six other ‘Legendary’ girls, each from different eras in Japan’s History that were brought back to life thanks to a mysterious man named Kotaro Tatsumi. Zombieland Saga Preview Trailer

I’ll be honest with you, one of the most overrated genres going on the US Television Networks and US Films are Apocalyptic, Zombie shows that have overstayed their welcome (Referring to The Walking Dead, Z-Nation, Twelve Monkeys, etc) but here we see something new that has caught the attention of Anime enthusiasts and fans of Japanese Idol Groups. Speaking of which, this show combines Horror with Comedy and Satire of the Japanese Idol Industry but while the show serves as not only a glimpse into Japanese Culture but also giving the viewers a look into the Saga Prefecture.

What works so well for the show is that it plays well with its elements and it isn’t afraid to make a joke of itself in the process. Despite dying under different circumstances, these girls are sticking together and they are serving the same purpose and that is making the group into a big sensation. The humor is spot on and the art (including the animation) is beautiful, but the CGI can be off-putting at times.

Final Grade:

Rating: 9 out of 10.
