Recently in a Livestream, a new letter from the Final Fantasy XIV Director Naoki Yoshida revealed new details about the new 5.1 Patch Update; calling it ‘Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty‘. In this latest patch, we’ll be seeing a collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and the Nier Series Directors Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro called YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse Alliance, the first part of this new Raid The Copied Factory will be landing in October.
Several other things will be introduced in this new Patch, examples, such as the Extreme Difficulty Trial, New Beast Tribe quests with the Pixies, system updates, and Job adjustments; for Crafting we’re looking at Restoration of the Holy See of Ishgard, Players can help rebuild Ishgard in new Crafting and Gatherer-focused Content. Blue Mages will be getting its first major update as well, we’re looking at a new level cap, job quests, and class-specific content but a fair warning Players, it is considered to be “Limited”. Shadowbringers Storyline will also be expanded more thanks to the new Main Scenario Quests; PVP is also getting an update in this new patch, described as ” Significant Changes” there will be a new Frontline map and ruleset.
With players looking forward to the new 24 man raid, there will also be a new dungeon introduced called The Grand Cosmos’ while using the Trust System, players can run with either other players or NPCs. Another nifty new feature we’re looking at in the new Patch is New Game + where you can do previously completed quests with your current gear and job level.
For now, the full patch notes will be released in October; one of the most exciting things to be introduced is that the first Alliance Raid, Yoko Taro bringing his signature style to Shadowbringers. It isn’t the first time that Square-Enix has worked with guest creators, for example, for Return to Ivalice was developed by a partnership with Yasumi Matsuno, the Director of Final Fantasy Tactics.
