The LEGO Group revealed the newest addition to their LEGO Mario Kart toy line, Luigi & Mach 8 (72050), the latest addition to the line-up of LEGO Super Mario products. This is the very first-ever large-scale LEGO brick recreation of the Mach 8 kart. The news comes after Nintendo announcing new LEGO sets launching in 2027.
This LEGO set is designed for Builders 18 years old and up, the set includes 2,234 pieces that bring Luigi and the Mach 8 to fans in brick form. It is a highly detailed model inspired by the fan favorite video game series, Mario Kart, and is set to go on sale on April 1st (which also is the release date for the sequel film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.) And is already available for Pre-Order.
Builders and Collectors can now display the Kart on its stand at dynamic, race-ready angles, capturing the excitement of a Mario Kart showdown mid-drift. The model can also be removed from its stand and be rolled forward. Turning the steering wheel turns the front wheels, and turning the back wheels will spin the flame exhaust, allowing for a playful movement alongside static display.
This set has been described as the ideal counterpart for the LEGO Mario Kart: Mario & Standard Kart Set (72037), it will allow collectors and builders to build their ideal full head-to-head display of their favorite characters.
