Happy Mar10 Day everyone, Nintendo recently held a special Nintendo Direct primarily focused on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. A Final Trailer was streamed, revealing new actors who will be portraying the remaining big characters.
The new trailer gave us a better look at familiar foes from Super Mario Bros. 2, memorable allies, and an Angry Bowser and son preparing for revenge! The following actors will be joining the new film: Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino (Community, Atlanta, Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Yoshi, Luis Guzmán (Wednesday, Code Black, Oz) as Wart, the Evil Frog King from Super Mario Bros. 2, and Issa Rae (Insecure, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Barbie) as Honey Queen, ruler of the Honey Hive galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy. Tickets are on sale now, and AMC Theatres and Cinemark have revealed the new memorabilia that will be available for Moviegoers when the movie premieres on April 1st.
Stars from the first film, Chris Pratt (Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and Charlie Day (Luigi) all return for the sequel, joining them will also be by Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer, The Curse, The Smashing Machine) as Bowser Jr, and Brie Larson (Scott Pilgrim VS. The World, Room, Captain Marvel) as Rosalina. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score. Both the 2023 film and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie were produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.
