New Details have emerged for Pokémon Day 2026, which includes a Pokémon Presents video presentation on Pokémon Day for exciting updates and announcements across the Pokémon franchise. The video presentation will be streamed at 6:00 a.m. PST / 2:00 p.m. GMT / 3:00 p.m. CET on Feb. 27, 2026, on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels.

If you’re not familiar with Pokémon Day, it is an annual holiday that commemorates the release of the original Pokémon video games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, in Japan. Furthermore, this year marks 30 years of Pokémon. Since the launch of the original Pokémon games, in 1996, Pokémon has continued to be one of the most successful and influential entertainment franchises in the world, supported by a passionate and dedicated community.
Pokémon Fire Red and Pokémon Leaf Green Comes to the Nintendo Switch!

For years, gamers have wished that Nintendo would finally bring the classic Pokémon video games to the Nintendo Switch Console, just like how it was available on the Nintendo 3DS e-shop. Now, Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, the 2004 remakes of the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green video games originally released in 1996, are coming to the Nintendo Switch system on Feb. 27, 2026. These two titles will be download-exclusive titles to celebrate 30 years of Pokémon. These titles will be available to play after the conclusion of the Pokémon Presents presentation and can be played on both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems.

“What’s Your Favorite?” Campaign Celebrates 30 Years of Pokémon

An event that was announced earlier in the month, The Pokémon Company International revealed the massive, yearlong “What’s Your Favorite?” campaign celebrating 30 years of Pokémon. As part of the campaign, fans are invited to share their favorite Pokémon with the new “What’s Your Favorite?” snapshot feature through the mobile game sensation Pokémon GO, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. LEGO POKÉMON SETS

Announced one month ago, the new Pokémon LEGO Sets will be finally making their way onto shelves on Pokémon Day. Each set are based on some of the most iconic Pokémon from the brand’s 30-year history, the first LEGO set allows fans to build and display their favourite Pokémon in LEGO brick form. The first three sets see five fan-favorite Pokémon — Pikachu, Eevee, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise recreated in LEGO brick form.
