One of the biggest animated franchises from Cartoon Network is preparing to jump back onto the pages of Comic Books, thanks to Dynamite Entertainment. The publisher announced that it will be launching a new Ben 10 comic book series, and its coming up in May 2026.
The franchise’s original creators, the foursome of Man of Action Entertainment consisting of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle. While they each have all come from an initial background in comics, before they joined together to form a powerhouse collective for comics, animation, television, film, and beyond. In addition to Ben 10, the crew have created and contributed to hit properties including Superman, Spider-Man, and the creation of Big Hero 6. This new era of Ben 10 comic books kicks off this May with an initial story arc led by Joe Casey and artist Robert Carey. The new series will launch on May 6th.
Joe Casey sets up the foundation for this new take on this series by offering a revamped origin story, a straightforward, action-oriented take on Ben Tennyson and his adventures. Speaking of updates, it will update the concept for a modern aesthetic and sensibility, both those who grew up with the series and newcomers will get the definitive new Ben 10 experience directly from the creators. A wider range of tones and themes will be explored, from drama, comedy, to tragedy, and even the surreal.

As far as the new series goes, it will follow a similar formula that superhero comics tend to do, building the mythology slowly and surely, with approachable short story arcs. Man of Action will be able to pull from the iterations of Ben 10 through the years, picking the coolest components, favorites from the rogues’ gallery, all the while revamping and establishing a deeper continuity. Let’s take a look at what Dynamite Entertainment will be offering in terms of variant covers and other items they will offer for fans to collect. There will be a range of variant covers that is part of this collaborative part of the franchise and this series. The interior artist for this book, Robert Carey illustrated a cover alongside Man of Action partner Duncan Rouleau, plus Dustin Nguyen, Sebastian Piriz, and Eric Canete. Collectors can opt for a mystery blind bag offering, containing one limited edition of the issue selected randomly from a range of covers exclusively available this way. Fans can also get a Blank Authentix so they can draw their own Ben 10 aliens, or get a custom sketch at a convention from their favorite artists or those involved in the series.
Ben 10 was conceived by Man of Action Entertainment and owned by Cartoon Network Inc, a division of Warner Bros Discovery. The series consisting of animated series produced by Cartoon Network Studios, focusing on a young boy named Ben Tennyson who discovered a high-tech, extraterrestrial device shaped like a wristwatch called the Omnitrix, DNA of various alien species, allowing Ben to transform into them at will. Initially, the Omnitrix features ten alien transformations, but over time, Ben gains the ability to unlock additional species. The franchise began with the first series, Ben 10, while inspiring three sequels (Ben 10: Alien Force (2008–2010), Ben 10: Ultimate Alien (2010–2012), and Ben 10: Omniverse (2012–2014), and a rebooted series set in its own continuity, with a 44-minute finale special serving as a crossover with the first four series. The franchise includes five films (three animated and two live-action films), numerous video games, and crossovers with other two Cartoon Network shows consisting of Generator Rex and The Secret Saturdays. It has garnered critical acclaim and won three Emmy awards, it ranks as Cartoon Network’s second-longest existing franchise. Ben 10 also inspired various merchandise that include board games, books, Lego Sets, Comic Books, bedding, card games, toys, and more. The original Ben 10 series will be available to stream on Tubi, along with other Cartoon Network animated titles starting on March 1st.
