Fans at Wednesday night’s AEW World Championship Eliminator Match between challenger Brody King, and the Heavyweight Champion, MJF (Maxwell Jacob Friedman) on AEW DYNAMITE broke out into Anti-ICE Chants.
The event took place during a live event in Las Vegas Nevada, being broadcast on HBO MAX and TBS was filled with a loud “FUCK ICE” chant reverberated through the audience before the opening bell rang. AEW Dynamite brought in a large crowd, Las Vegas has been described as a major immigration destination where Latinos where almost 35% of the population is Hispanic or Latino, according Census.Gov. The wrestling company has attracted a large Latino fan base over the years by embracing Mexican Luchadores and the rich, deep-rooted tradition of Latino Wrestling. Mainstream News Organizations such as NBC News, Fox News, and TMZ reported on this topic recently. After King picked up the win on Wednesday, he will face MJF for the AEW World Championship at AEW GRANDSLAM AUSTRALIA on Saturday, February 14th.

Brody King has been an outspoken against ICE. At last year’s GRAND SLAM MEXICO he wore his usual wrestling gear and an Abolish ICE T-Shirt, the shirt drew attention and support, King released a T-shirt benefiting a nonprofit organization in California. Another fact about this wrestler, he is also the lead vocalist of the hardcore band God’s Hate, collaborated with Headlocked Comics, Daniel Warren Johnson, and a printing company to release T-shirts and a Variant Cover for Brody King – Tales from the Road. The referee in the match, Bryce Remsburg announced on social media that he will be using his Cameo platform to donate all proceeds until 2/13 to Lancaster Neighbor Fund, a nonprofit program that financially empowers immigrants in Lancaster County to exercise their rights in immigration court, and is helping offset costs for the traumatic and expensive process of someone detained by ICE.

This wasn’t the first time that a wrestler spoke against ICE at AEW. In October 2025, former AEW Heavyweight Champion Hangman Adam Page slammed ICE for airing recruitment commercials during Dynamite. He took to Bluesky to condemn ICE and encourage fans to voice their complaints to both TBS and HBO Max.
