Christmas Day was full of surprises, one of the biggest surprises involved a release date, Space Vehicle Visual, and information regarding Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity. Starting the first part of the announcements was the release date, which the new series is set to premiere on February 15, 2026.
According to a press release from Toei, Gavan Infinity is on a ‘Multiverse Patrol’ that transcends dimensions to investigate the Multiverse. He can also travel between dimensions aboard his ship, the Cosmo Gavalion. As mentioned earlier, the series will premiere on Sunday, February 15th, 2026 on TV Asahi, and 24 TV Asahi affiliates at 9:30 am JST. Western Fans are hoping Toei will include Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity to be streamed in the West, like how Kamen Rider Zeztz is streaming in part of SHOUT! Factory’s TokuSHOUTsu lineup.
Three Space Sheriffs, Different Dimensions, and Emolgear!
Our new hero is investigating crimes related to “Emolgia”, an energy-based life-form that reacts strongly to human emotions that grants both Gavan Infinity and his enemies great power. Speaking of power, each Gavan will be able to wield weapons that are powered by battery-like items called Emolgear! Emolgear uses Emorgy, a special energy lifeform that reacts to human emotions. Starting from the left, containing the Emorgy of “SORROW” is the Emolgear Item called HISOO, which is used by Gavan Bushido to transform. In the middle is the Emorgy of”ANGER” called GEKIDO, which Gavan Infinity uses to transform, and finally, is the Emolgear that contains the Emorgy of “JOY” called KANKI, which transforms Gavan into Gavan Luminous. One important thing to point out is that there is only one person in the universe who holds the title of “Gavan.” In other words, there will be a “Different Gavan” in “different universes.” They are not a team, but space sheriffs who each operate in a different dimension, the question is how will they interact in the new series? Let’s discuss Gavan’s new spaceship, the Cosmo Gavarion, which is capable of dimensional transcendence (“D-Jump”) to another universe, and in an emergency, it can transform into the giant robot“Cosmo Gavalion GC-R!“
There is still no word on the cast list, but there was an update on the staff who will be involved in this new series. Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity will be directed by Hirofumi Fukuzawa, a suit actor who was known for his many roles as Red Warriors (Sentai Red) in the Super Sentai Series, but is known for his suit role in 2001’s Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger. Handling the scripts will be Atsuhiro Tomioka (Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger, Chrono Crusade, Ace Attorney) and others. Special effects direction will be handled by Hiroshi Butsuda, and music by Kentaro Sonoda and Yuki Nara.
What is P.R.O.J.E.C.T R.E.D.?
Taking its name from the initials of “Records of Extraordinary Dimensions,” it represents a saga of multidimensional heroism. Staying true to the name R.E.D. the new initiative will center on “red heroes,” while expanding into a large-scale, multi-title universe where several works intersect and grow into a cohesive world.

This marks a milestone in Japanese Hero Entertainment, the first major transformation in fifty years of the Super Sentai broadcast slot (which has been confirmed to be going on Hiatus), and what better way to change the entertainment landscape with the return of the Space Sheriff series, starting with the newly announced Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity! A reimagining of the classic Space Sheriff Gavan series from 1982, by rebuilding its world from the ground up. When the original Gavan series first debuted in Japan, and abroad, it captivated audiences with its metallic suit and space-themed action, leaving a historic mark on 1980s special effects entertainment. The 2026 version takes that innovative spirit and pushes it forward with the latest visual technologies. In an era where AI and space exploration are part of everyday reality, the series aims to portray a new vision of the science-fiction hero.
