After a brief time at the Box Office, there are already rumors circulating that the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is already on its way to Digital Platforms.
Rumors have been floating around lately that Universal Pictures is planning to release Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 on Digital Platforms on December 23rd, two days before Christmas. The sequel film has already popped up on Platforms such as Fandango VUDU, Movies Anywhere, and Amazon’s Prime Video ready for Pre-Order. ARTICLE UPDATE: It has been confirmed by Universal Pictures that the sequel film will indeed be on Digital Platforms on the 23rd. The physical media release of the film will be set for February 17th, 2026.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 made its box office debut on December 5th, bringing in $63 million from 3,412 theaters, scoring the top opening ever for the post-Thanksgiving frame, among other milestones according to THR (The Hollywood Reporter). Overseas was a different story, Universal and Blumhouse took an equally stellar $46.1 million from 76 markets for an early global total of $109 million against a net production of $36 million before marketing. At this moment, the film has reached $101,680,140 domestically while inching closer to passing $200 million globally, possibly reaching the milestone this weekend. The film’s budget consists of $36–51 million. Cast from the previous film reprise their roles, while Freddy Carter, Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, McKenna Grace, and Teo Briones join the cast.

Based on the video game franchise created by Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy’s was first released in 2014 and quickly rose to massive popularity.
