A week ago, Toei and TV Asahi announced a new series that would redefine the landscape of Japan’s long-running hero entertainment in 2026 by revealing that the newly announced P.R.O.J.E.C.T. RED (Records of Extraordinary Dimensions)’s first installment would be Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity. Now, we have a brief new look with the series’s first teaser trailer.
It gave fans a look at the return of Metal Heroes, especially a glimpse of the new hero and the sheriff’s new costume. Toei also released a special behind-the-scenes video for Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity, unfortunately, it is not available to view in the West at this time. New information regarding the cast and plot will be revealed at a later date.
What is P.R.O.J.E.C.T. RED?
Taking its name from the initials of “Records of Extraordinary Dimensions,” it represents a saga of multidimensional heroism. Staying true to the name R.E.D. the new initiative will center on “red heroes,” while expanding into a large-scale, multi-title universe where several works intersect and grow into a cohesive world.

This marks a milestone in Japanese Hero Entertainment, the first major transformation in fifty years of the Super Sentai broadcast slot, and what better way to change the entertainment landscape with the return of the Space Sheriff series, starting with the newly announced Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity! A reimagining of the classic Space Sheriff Gavan series from 1982, by rebuilding its world from the ground up.
