After a eight-year hiatus, the TV Anime adaptation of Carlo Zen and Shinobu Shinotsuki’s The Saga of Tanya the Evil is finally coming back with a Second Season, the first season aired in 2017.
To promote the news of a second season, a new promotional video and visual were released, confirming the second season will premiere in 2026. Speaking of promotions, a commemorative event was held at the GiGo Ikebukuro Building, where special editions of the “War Situation Report” were being passed out, more information can be found on the Anime’s Twitter Post.
Takayuki Yukimoto is directing the sequel, with Kenta Ihara in charge of the series composition and Yuji Hosogoe as the character designer and chief animation director, Studio NUT will be returning to handle animation production. As for the cast, it will include the following: Aoi Yūki as Tanya Degurechaff, Saori Hayami as Visha, Shinichirō Miki as Rerugen, Tesshō Genda as Rudersdorf, and Hōchū Ōtsuka as Zettour.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil is a light novel series written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. It began serialization online in 2010, on the user-generated novel publishing website Arcadia. Enterbrain acquired the series in October 2013 and has published fourteen volumes by September 2023. It also includes a manga adaptation with art by Chika Tōjō began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine from April 2016. Both the light novel series, and manga adaptation were later licensed by Yen Press in April 2017. It would also inspire audiobook adaptations, a TV anime, and an animated film that served as a sequel to the first season of the TV Anime, and would be part of a comedy crossover series called Isekai Quartet. Both the Saga of Tanya the Evil and Isekai Quartet are available to watch on Crunchyroll.
