Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run Gets a New Trailer, Character Visuals

Recently, a brand-new event was streamed for the TV Anime adaptation of Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run. This new event revealed new footage, and an updated cast list.

The new trailer gives us a great look at Johnny Joestar, Gyro Zeppeli, Diego Brando, Lucy Steel, and Steven Steel. The new anime is set to stream exclusively on Netflix. It has also been confirmed by Anime News Network, that the returning staff members from previous anime adaptations have reunited to take on production, including Golden Wind co-directors Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, who are directing the anime at David Production.

Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1987. It was transferred to Shueisha’s Ultra Jump Magazine in 2005. The manga consists of nine parts, and each part follows a protagonist whose name can be shortened to JoJo. Each part also features recurring characters and connected storylines. The First began with Phantom Blood and is currently in JoJoLands. The manga also inspired several manga spin-offs, Light Novels, Drama CDs, video games, and TV Anime. Viz Media publishes manga for English Audiences and recently announced the license acquisition of Steel Ball Run, the first volume will be available on May 27th. You can watch the first six parts of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime on Netflix and Blu-ray.

Riders from around the world gather in the Wild West for the race of the century! Johnny Joestar, a former jockey paralyzed from the waist down, comes to spectate, and momentarily regains the ability to walk while watching a duel fought by Gyro Zeppeli. Desperate to learn more about this power, Johnny joins the race alongside Gyro and embarks on the most epic and bizarre race to ever cross the American frontier!
