The Pokémon Company revealed a new Mega Evolution form that would be featured in Pokémon Legends Z-A, five days ago. Fans were afraid it would be another Mega Evolution form for another Kanto-Region Pokémon, due to the recent reveals of Mega Dragonite and Mega Victreebell, but the honor went to Hoenn’s Avian Luchadore, Hawlucha!
With a sigh of relief from fans, and noting a clever nod to the TV Anime episode from Pokémon XYZ titled Analysis vs. Passion, Trainers are looking forward to catching a Hawlucha in Legends Z-A. Speaking of wrestling, The Pokémon Company International has partnered with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to host a special event at Arena México in Mexico City on September 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. PDT (7:00 p.m. CST). The showcase will feature four exhibition matches with top lucha libre wrestlers, including fan-favorite Místico. Fans can experience the action live in the arena or watch online via the official Pokémon and CMLL YouTube channels.. Two new videos were streamed, the first was a full wrestling match involving Machamp and Hawlucha, unfortunately for fans of this Kanto Pokémon, he played the role of a Jobber (one who loses matches to make another wrestler appear stronger.) The second video showed Mega Hawlucha in action.

Bulked up by Mega Evolution, it uses its muscles to take hit after hit from opponents’ moves and flex its own strength. After luring its opponent into attacking, it retaliates to make them flinch before diving at them using its signature move, Flying Press, to aim for victory.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available on Oct. 16, 2025, on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch systems. A Nintendo Switch 2 + Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition bundle will also be available.
