There is breaking news from Oricon, The Prince of Tennis Creator, Takeshi Konomi has confirmed that The Prince of Tennis II will be entering its final year, and the series will be ending sometime in 2026.

After 17 years of its publication, the beloved sequel to the original Prince of Tennis is preparing for an emotional farewell. The news first broke on Konomi’s recent Twitter post, sparking reactions from fans online. With the series entering the climax stage, readers are eager to see how Ryoma Echizen’s journey will conclude. The final arc begins in the August 2025 issue of Jump Square, which fans in Japan can purchase in print or digitally for 695 yen. It goes on sale on Friday, July 4th.

What is The Prince of Tennis II about?
- The Prince of Tennis II takes place shortly after the end of the original series, where Ryoma Echizen returned to Japan after his trip to America as a candidate for the Japanese U-17 (under 17) High School Representatives Selection Camp, along with 50 other middle school tennis players.
- The Prince of Tennis II was created by Takeshi Konomi, serving as the sequel to his original Prince of Tennis manga. It was first serialized in Shueisha’s JUMP Square magazine in March 2009, and has been an ongoing series that has collected 440 chapters in 44 tankobon volumes as of May 2025.
