Get ready Web Heads, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Film trilogy is making a big comeback, thanks to a new event collaboration involving Sony Pictures and Fathom Entertainment.
In a special re-release event, Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Army of Darkness, Darkman)’s beloved film Spider-Man Trilogy which starred Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and James Franco will include a 4K edition of the extended cut of “Spider-Man 2,” titled “Spider-Man 2.1.” It is the first theatrical release of that version of the superhero sequel, which includes extended and additional scenes. The event begins on Sept. 26 with screenings of “Spider-Man,” with “Spider-Man 2.1” following on Sept. 27 and “Spider-Man 3” on Sept. 28. An encore presentation will take place the following weekend, with the trilogy entries respectively playing on Oct. 3, Oct. 4 and Oct. 5. Tickets will be available on July 25.

The Spider-Man Film trilogy was the newest addition in Fathom Events’ Fan Favorites series, which sees Fathom Entertainment set limited theatrical engagements of beloved classics. “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” kicked off the lineup earlier in June, with “Clueless” following later on. Future engagements include “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Sunset Boulevard,” “The Sound of Music” and “Rocky IV.”
Spider-Man was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, he made his debut in Amazing Fantasy Issue No. 15 (August 1962), considered to be one of the most commercially successful superheroes of all time. Since his debut, he has appeared in comic books (including spin-off titles), television shows, films, video games, and plays. The Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy is available now on Blu-ray, 4K, and Digital.
