The latest installment in the Precure Franchise is getting a brand-new film, according to a new press release from Toei. You and Idol Precure♪ the Movie is set to debut in September.

You and Idol Precure♪ the Movie will be coming to theaters on September 12, a new visual and teaser trailer accompanied the news of the film’s release date. The tagline for the poster reads “A sparkling live show begins in theaters across Japan!” Also, in the new visual features Cure Idol, Cure Wink, and Cure Kyun-Kyun flash bright smiles and strike a dynamic pose as they prepare to perform in front of a huge crowd! The fairies Purirun and Meroron can be seen cheering with glowsticks.

A special edition of this flyer will include a unique coloring page for the kids, which will be distributed at participating theaters in Japan starting May 1. The Pretty Cure Franchise has seen monumental success over the years through its events, including the Pretty Cure Exhibition and the record-breaking Pretty Cure All Stars F film. That momentum carried into last year’s standalone film Wonderful Precure! The Movie! Achieved a series-high box office of 1.24 billion yen.

You and Idol Precure♪ is the 22nd installment in the Precure Franchise, succeeding Wonderful Precure! It premiered in February and airs every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on ABC TV and TV Asahi. Its central theme is: “Because you’re here, I can shine. I can be strong!” You and Idol Precure♪ Is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

Middle school student Uta Sakura loves to sing any chance she gets. But music becomes more than a hobby when she meets Purirun, a fairy whose hometown has plunged into darkness. The Chokkiri Gang took over her land and began stealing her people’s sparkle. Determined to help, Uta is transformed into the legendary protector Cure Idol and vows to return their sparkle through song.
