Pretty Pretty Please I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl Soars Past 1.8 Million Views on YouTube

It’s one of the newest Indie Animated Projects that has taken Social Media by storm, and that’s Kiana Khansmith’s Pretty Pretty Please, I Don’t Want To Be A Magical Girl. This wonderful parody of the magical girl genre reached new heights on YouTube, reaching over 1.8 Million Views in five days.

Pretty Pretty Please, I Don’t Want To Be A Magical Girl is a fun and affectionate parody of Magical Girl stories (both manga and anime such as Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, and Precure) created by Kiana Khansmith, a Director/Storyboard Artist from Disney Television Animation, known for her work on Big City Greens, and The Pokémon Company’s Pokémon: Path to The Peak animated series. Khansmith posted original character concepts on her Tumblr page last August, just for fun and it inspired many to draw fan art of her unique characters, which led to Kiana making comics about these characters, and eventually turning the concept into a pilot animatic, with full voice acting.

“Let’s just get this over with.”

A story about a girl named Aika who, you guessed it, doesn’t want to be a magical girl! She’s fallen out of love with her work overtime but gets the job done regardless. Will she be able to reignite her passion with the help of her magical sidekick, Hoshi, and her new best friend Zira? Or will those pesky evildoers, Eclipse and Lady DeVoid continue to keep her down? Who knows!!!
