Chainsaw Man Vol. 17 Ranked No. 1 in Jan. 2025 Top 20 Adult G. Novels Chart

For the first time in over a year, Circana (formerly NPD) BookScan data has reported that there are NO American Graphic Novels on the Top 20 Adult Graphic Novels List for January 2025 (1/5/2025 – 2/1/2025) according to ICv2.

Usually, in the past, manga or manhwa would be in the top 20 with one American Graphic Novel being in the top five, and that was TMNT: The Last Ronin in December, but it slipped off the Top 20 Chart just barely this month. But it was the latest volume of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man that stood tall at No. 1, the series has been doing well with manga chapters being published online via Viz Media or on Shueisha’s Manga Plus app. The TV Anime adaptation triggered a boom in sales when it premiered and with it continuing with a new film, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is expected to be debuting later this year.

Next up, Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family Vol. 13 taking the No. 2 spot, another Shonen anime that has been doing well, a third season was confirmed recently that will premiere in October 2025, it already has a feature film titled SPY×FAMILY Code: White that is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Blu-ray. Other popular manga titles such as SAKAMOTO DAYS Vol. 15 made their debut in January’s top 20, and the anime recently premiered on Netflix.
