Playstation Network Is Currently Offline

Some breaking news coming our way from News Media such as The Verge, Sony’s Playstation Network is down, and it has players in full blown panic mode.

According to Sony’s PSN status page, account management, gaming, and social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and the PlayStation Direct website are all dealing with issues. Their status website mentions that the network outage began around 7 PM EST, but user reports started spiking on Downdetector about an hour earlier at around 6 PM ET, with comments ranging around the 9k mark, while Reddit’s r/PlayStation thread has already over 7k comments regarding the Network Outage.

While this throws a wrench into both Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 gamers’ nights, this wasn’t the first time the network has gone down. In March 2024, the PlayStation network was down for several hours due to a partial outage, and then happened once again seven months later when the network went down for 8 hours.
