Kamen Rider Kuuga Celebrates 25th Anniversary With A New Logo and Exhibition

The First Heisei Rider is turning 25 this year as Toei announces a brand-new exhibition for Kamen Rider Kuuga. Accompanied by the Exhibition news, a special teaser trailer, visual, and a new logo for the 25th Anniversary.

This Super Kuuga Exhibition will be held in four cities in Japan, starting with the Tokyo Venue in June 2025, which will be followed by Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Osaka over a year, and is also scheduled to be held in Asia in 2026. It was also announced that Shigenori Takatera (Denji Sentai Megaranger, Seiju Sentai GingamanandKamen Rider Kuuga) will be serving as the Exhibiton’s Supervisor.

The new teaser trailer features original footage from when it was broadcast in the year 2000 and features newly shot footage for this special broadcast which features Fumihiko Tachiki (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kamen Rider W, and BLEACH) as the narrator, Tachiki also narrated the program previews at the time. As for the special teaser visual, it features Kenji Tominaga (Japan Action Enterprise) who also played Kamen Rider Kuuga in the television series.

Finally, it has been confirmed that Tokyo MX will be airing Kamen Rider Kuuga 25th Anniversary: Special Edition at 20:00 JST (5:00 am U.S. Central Time Zone) on January 30. It is a compilation of Episodes 1 and 2 that was produced in 2001, it is the original edited version, which was re-edited and reconstructed for this broadcast only.

Kamen Rider Kuuga serves as not only the tenth installment in the Kamen Rider Franchise but also the very first Kamen Rider in the Heisei Period. It was the first standalone Kamen Rider Television Series since Kamen Rider RX, it revived the franchise and brought the series into the 21st Century. Kuuga was the first Kamen Rider Television Series that was broadcast in a wide-screen (letterbox) format, which premiered on January 30, 2000, to January 21, 2001, consisting of 49 episodes, and four specials.

It would inspire two manga spin-offs, one featured in TeleCoro Comic magazine,  and its reboot series written by Toshiki Inoue and illustrated by Hitotsu Yokoshima, which would be later licensed by Titan Publishing Group for English publication under their new manga imprint. Kamen Rider Kuuga also inspired a S.I.C. Hero Saga Story series, a novel, and a video game. KAMEN RIDER KUUGA is available now on Tubi, SHOUT! Factory, Blu-ray, and YouTube.
