My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Reveals Main Cast and April Release Date

With My Hero Academia’s Final Season preparing to end later this year, its spin-off series prepares to take its All-Might-shaped place with Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court’s My Hero Academia: Vigilantes (Illegals). A new announcement from BONES confirmed that the new anime series is set to premiere in April.

Based on the successful spin-off manga series created by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, three new character visuals, a cast list, and a new trailer were unveiled recently from BONES. The anime will premiere on April 7 on the Tokyo MX and BS NTV channels at 11:00 p.m. JST, then on Yomiuri TV at 25:59 JST (effectively, April 8 at 1:59 a.m. JST).

Manga Artist, Betten Court shared a special illustration for the big announcement that featured Pop☆Star. Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure chief director) directs the anime adaptation at BONES FILM, with series composition by Yosuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia), character designs by Takahiko Yoshida (Cells at Work!) and music by Yuki Hayashi, Shogo Yamashira and Yuki Furuhashi. Additional staff members include Yukihiro Watanabe as art director, Haruko Nobori as color designer, Eiei Cho as director of cinematography, Mizuki Sasaki as 3DCG director, Kiyoshi Hirose as editor and Masafumi Mima as sound director.

Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court’s My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is not only a spin-off series but serves as a prequel to Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia series. It made its debut in Shueisha’s JUMP GIGA Magazine in August 2016 but was transferred to Shueisha’s online magazine, Shōnen Jump+, in October of the same year, where it would run until May 2022 with its chapters additionally collected in 15 tankōbon volumes. Viz Media announced a new licensing deal for English Audiences in November 2017.
