BEASTARS made its serialized debut in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion Magazine on September 6, 2016, and ended on October 8, 2020. The chapters were collected into 22 tankobon volumes, surpassing over 10 million copies in circulation. This iconic manga has won numerous awards over the years, such as the 11th Manga Taishō, making it the first Akita Shoten title to receive it. In 2018, Viz Media announced at their Anime Expo panel that they licensed the manga, the first volume released on July 16, 2019, and the last on January 17, 2023. The manga also inspired a spin-off manga titled BEAST COMPLEX, an anime adaptation (which is currently in its final season), and a stage play. The BEASTARS manga is available now and its anime adaptation is on Netflix.
