New Year, another new way to reintroduce our favorite web-head to a brand-new audience with Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man! Marvel released a new trailer and poster for its newest animated series, changing things up for our wall-crawling hero and setting up for a January release date.

That’s right true believers, things are getting changed around once again for Peter, instead of Parker looking up to Tony Stark like his MCU counterpart did, it’s being switched to Norman Osborn in this parallel timeline. It is supposed to give viewers a nostalgic feel with the art style being similar to Steve Ditko’s work, but fans have mixed feelings about this approach, and gives a vibe that Disney and Marvel are trying to cash in on Nostalgia and leaning too strongly on clichés. Plus, Parker’s origin story has changed, instead of being bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter is bitten by a spider from a different universe (setting up a multiverse storyline, which is starting to wear thin, due to both publishers being guilty of doing this over the years.) The new animated series is set to premiere on January 29, 2025 on Disney Plus.
